The Conté à Paris Pierre Noire charcoal pencil is made in France and has been popular with artists since the 18th century. The smooth core produces deep black, matte lines and suits a variety of surfaces, from rough or smooth paper to canvas. Suited to artists and illustrators working with traditional materials. For light corrections, we recommend a kneaded eraser. Note: This pencil is too wide for most sharpeners. We recommend sharpening the wood and core with a knife or a razor blade. A sanding block can also be used for the core.
